MOSCOW, Feb 13 (Reuters) - The majority shareholder of Kazakh fintech company Kaspi, Vyacheslav Kim, has submitted an application to buy Jusan Bank, Kazakhstan's sixth largest by assets, the company's press service said in a statement on Thursday.
"I have submitted an application to the Agency for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market (ARRFR) to acquire 97.5% of the shares of Jusan Bank," Kim was quoted as saying in the company's statement.
The ARRFR press service told Reuters that Kim's application would be reviewed within 50 working days.
In June 2023, the Jusan group of companies, which includes Jusan Bank, Bing Ads was returned to state control.
The shareholders of Kaspi.kz, which includes Kazakhstan's third-largest retail bank, Kaspi Bank, placed the company's securities in an IPO on the US Nasdaq stock exchange in 2024 for $1.04 billion. (Reporting by Mariya Gordeyeva; Editing by Clarence Fernandez)
